Standard Operating Procedures for CHILDREN

MEASURE 3.1.

LONG-TERM PSYCHOLOGICAL SUPPORT AND EMPOWERMENT OF CHILD VICTIMS OF TRAFFICKING

The long-term support for the child and the child’s family is extended in line with the action plan by the CPA. In the cases when the child is placed in a crisis centre (for a period for 1 to 6 months), the support is provided and coordinated by the social workers who are responsible for the child on the territory of the centre.

The child victims of trafficking have access to social services which provide counselling and psychological support.

Every child has the right to express freely opinions on all matters in their interest. The child may seek assistance from the authorities and persons in charge of providing protection under the Child Protection Act.

Every child has the right to be informed and advised by the child protection authority, including without the knowledge of their parents or caregivers if this is required to protect the child’s interests and if notifying them would harm those interests.
